A concentrate-specific mode for simplified raw materials analysis.
The optional Hemp-Derived Cannabinoid Module offers a separate analysis button on the LightLab 3 user interface to allow hemp-derived cannabinoid analysis. These include a concentrate-specific mode for simplified raw material analysis, as well as custom modes for more advanced analysis including infused products, tinctures, etc.
Note that hemp-derived cannabinoid analysis is a separate mode in LightLab. Samples that do not contain hemp-derived cannabinoids should not be run in hemp-derived cannabinoid modes. Similarly, samples that do contain hemp-derived cannabinoids should only be run in hemp-derived cannabinoid modes. The separate hemp-derived cannabinoid mode allows LightLab to zero in on hemp-derived cannabinoids specifically in order to provide the highest accuracy and precision.
LightLab uses a direct calibration using CRMs for calibration just like Laboratories do. This is not the case for the vast majority of portable/in-house cannabis devices, which rely on computer models generated from laboratory results. That means LightLab is capable of providing laboratory-grade results in a portable and economical package. In the case of hemp-derived cannabinoids, Certified Reference Materials (CRMs) are not available. Instead, LightLab relies on non-certified materials for calibration. These generally have higher uncertainty, and therefore the accuracy of LightLab will be lower for hemp-derived cannabinoids when compared to typical phytocannabinoids. Note that this is also the case for any laboratory testing hemp-derived cannabinoids as they rely on the same standards that LightLab does.
