Technical Inside Sales Specialist

We are looking for a motivated individual to spearhead customer account development. This role requires a unique blend of technical and customer-facing skills to generate new business and service revenue from existing customers. High customer satisfaction is a companywide commitment. Key Responsibilities:

Inside Sales

  • Develops sales opportunities by researching and identifying potential accounts, soliciting new accounts, building rapport, providing technical information and explanations and escalating opportunity to territory manager
  • Work with VP of Sales to drive lead-generation and opportunity discovery strategies, including targeted market and localized geographic outreach and cold-calling.
  • Support Sales Team with new business development and follow-ups, appointment setting, and associated task assignment in CRM.
  • Answer phone, respond to e-mail inquiries, verify and enter lead/account information.
  • Transfer/enter complete order information into fulfilment system, communicate fulfilment to customer
  • Develops accounts by checking customer’s buying history, suggesting related and new items, and explaining technical features
  • Work in partnership with marketing team members to develop Account/Contact Tags for targeted marketing campaigns and support packages.
  • Updates job knowledge by studying new product descriptions and participating in educational opportunities.

Account Development

  • Facilitate proactive (outbound) customer communications following the customer journey, focused on maximizing customer utilization
  • Facilitate reactive (inbound) customer communications and triage for team
  • Following the close of the sales order the person in this role is responsible for the following:
    • Customer onboarding management – Introduction of resources, schedule training service, closely monitor and support the first 90-days of ownership
    • Customer account success – Facilitate account check-in conversations, quarterly calls, identify account revenue development and referral opportunities, schedule training and retraining dates
  • Basic Technical Support
    • Address Level 1 support issues and escalation, inbound from customer or triggered via system intelligence,
    • Log escalated support need in SalesForce Customer Support Task Report
    • Monitor technical support ticket progress and support customer updates
    • Identify opportunities for upsell, upgrade, and new application utilization.
  • Maintain customer focus. Advocate for the customer, and also effectively represent Orange Photonics in case escalation and other difficult customer situations.
  • Identify and escalate sales, application, and technical trends. 

Skill & Qualifications

The ideal candidate has a technical sales background.

  • Experience in account development, inside sales or customer support required
  • Knowledge of analytical instrumentation and/or chemistry a plus
  • Computer literacy is required, knowledge of SalesForce, LinkedIn, and Sales Navigator highly preferred
  • BA/BS technical degree preferred but not required
  • Self-starter, highly motivated, diligent and self-managing
  • Proven ability to articulate the distinct aspects of products and services
  • Excellent listening, verbal and written communications skills
